Mixed Use Development Advances in Ann Arbor
Oxford Companies and Crawford Hoying announced that Arbor South, a 20-acre mixed-use community, has received final state approval from the Michigan Strategic Fund Board.
Located at 2845 S. State St., near Eisenhower Parkway, Arbor South is envisioned as a natural extension of the energy, creativity and community that define Ann Arbor. The development will include more than 1,000 apartments and condominiums, 100,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, and a hotel.
“This is an important milestone for the project and a reason to celebrate what Arbor South will bring to Ann Arbor,” said Jeff Hauptman, CEO of Oxford Companies. “Advancing a project of this scale has involved careful coordination and sustained collaboration with the city.”
Arbor South was approved via the largest brownfield tax recapture plan in city and county history. The project team includes Detroit-based general contractor Sachse Construction, Detroit-based architecture and design firm Lord Aeck Sargent and Ann Arbor-based civil engineering firm Midwestern Consulting.
